Biomechanical Assessment & Gait Analysis (pressure‑mat/plate) — £90
Appointment length: 30 minutes
Assessment method: Pressure‑plate gait analysis (GaitScan) + clinical examination
This is a focused appointment to assess foot function and walking mechanics. We combine a clinical biomechanical assessment with a computerised pressure‑plate gait scan to measure how pressure loads through the feet and the timing of your gait during walking.
Suitable for
Ongoing or recurring foot discomfort
Pressure‑related problems (e.g., recurring hard skin/callus/corns)
Heel, arch or forefoot symptoms where foot loading may be contributing
Lower‑limb symptoms where gait mechanics may be relevant
What happens in the appointment (30 minutes)
History and symptom review (what you feel, when it occurs, footwear/activity factors, relevant medical background)
Clinical biomechanical assessment (relevant movement, foot posture/function checks)
Pressure‑plate gait analysis (GaitScan): you walk across the pressure plate so the system can record plantar pressure distribution and timing sequences and produce an objective report for review.
Findings and plan: results are explained on the day, with practical next steps.
What you receive
Explanation of key findings (including any notable high‑pressure areas and loading patterns seen on the scan)
A management plan, which may include:
Footwear guidance
Pressure/off‑loading strategies
Self‑management and exercise advice where appropriate
Discussion of orthoses options if they are relevant to your findings
